The Rod of Moses
Moses hesitated before the burning bush. How would he convince the people that God had sent him? What proof could he give?
The voice from the bush spoke: "What is that in your hand?"
"A staff," Moses answered.
"Throw it on the ground," the voice commanded.
He threw it down, and it became a snake. Moses jumped back in fright.
"Reach out your hand and seize it by the tail."
Moses reached down and grasped the serpent's tail: It stiffened, turning back into his familiar staff.
"Thus the will believe that the LORD, the God of their ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has appeared to you."
