Healed of Cancer Without Chemo
This is my testimony of God's healing power. I was diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer at the age of 21. The cancer had spread to my lymph nodes and I had 13 lymph nodes removed, as well as a lumpectomy. The doctor insisted I undergo chemotherapy, but after many days of research, I knew chemo was not the way for me to go. I didn't trust anything that would destroy my natural immune system, even for a year or so.
I called my mother from my campus apartment (I was a college student at the time), and told her I was not taking chemo. She sighed and told me that she was so glad I made that decision. She had been praying about the situation for weeks and also felt that chemo was not the way for me. She was my first confirmation that I was on the right track. After a long battle in my oncologist’s office, I made a definitive stand that I would not be treated using chemo.
The doctor was very disturbed because the cancer was growing at a rate almost twice that of my normal cells. However, this was, of course, my body and my choice, so she had to respect my wishes.
There were many sleepless nights I wondered if I had made the right decision. One night, I laid prostrate on the floor, cried, and begged God for my life. After about an hour, I suddenly heard an audible voice say,"You shall not die but live." That was my second confirmation, and all that I needed to be assured that I would make it, even without chemo.
That was 16 years ago. I am now 37 years old, have been married for 12 years, and have given birth to two beautiful little girls who are 5 and 2 years old. My girls are completely healthy and so am I. I have been cancer-free for more than 10 years. I have written a book about my experience titled, "Eagles, Angels and Butterflies: How We Got Our Wings." Also, in June 2007, I will testify before state lawmakers in hopes of radically changing public policy concerning healthcare and breast cancer. GOD IS AWESOME!!
