Child
witnesses Angel and is healed after Parents pray over his injuries
This
personal miracle account is told by Ruth Hunter, staff member
of the Society for the Cure of Souls
The following
is a true story of a miracle that my family and I experienced
several years ago. The event began as my 4-year-old son Joel
was playing outside our home in Wichita Falls, Texas. My son
ran into the house crying he'd been badly bitten along
the bottom of his foot by a swarm of red ants. Red ant bites
are incredibly painful; they cause serious swelling that typically
lasts for several days.
That night,
as my husband and I were getting our three kids ready for bed,
our son Joel was still in terrible pain from his injuries. My
husband and I joined Joel at his bedside, laid our hands on
him, and prayed for him. We prayed that God would protect and
heal his foot.
The next
morning, Joel ran into our room excited. He cried out, "Mom,
Dada big angel with a sword came and touched my foot last
night and the bites are gone!Ó
He held
up his foot for inspection. Amazed, we examined the bottom of
his foot and found that sure enough, there were no signs of
any bites at all. Joel's foot had been healed completely.
If ever
we had doubts over the power of prayer, those doubts were gone.
To this
day we think back on this miraculous event and are comforted
by the knowledge that God truly is watching over us and hearing
our prayers. Ruth Hunter
Megan's
Miracle
At the age
of 2, Megan's mother took her to the pediatrician for her annual
checkup. At that time, the doctor discovered a serious physical
abnormality. This medical problem would require a very complicated,
painful surgical procedure. Because of the pain and post-surgery
care that would be necessary, the surgery could not be performed
until Megan was at least 11 years old.
A few months
later, Megan was prayed for during a church service. At her
next doctor's appointment, Megan's mother mentioned the situation
to the doctor again. The doctor responded with a very perplexed
look on his face. He looked back through Megan's chart and said,
"I really don't understand this. There is not only any problem,
but there is no indication that there ever was any abnormality!"
Megan has
never had any reoccurrence of the problem. She is a beautiful
young woman. She is a registered nurse who believes that medical
knowledge is a gift that God has given us, but also knows that
sometimes it takes a miracle.

Miracle
in Massillion
On March
23, 1981, Carlye Dawn Provard was born in Massillion, OH. She
was born one week premature and her lungs were not quite fully
developed.
Due to her
lung capacity, Carlye scored very low on the Apgar testing and
the doctors were unsure of her survival. She was kept in an
incubator for 5 days and, after much praying from her God-fearing
parents, grandparents, and friends of the family, Carlye progressed
greatly. This improvement allowed her parents, Steve and Lynette
Provard, to take her home, but only under strict orders from
the doctors to constantly monitor her via electrodes on her
chest.
Unfortunately,
by the second night the monitor was going off continuously and
Steve and Lynette did the unthinkable: they removed the monitor
from Carlye's chest and put her in their bed in order to get
some good rest. Lynette just prayed, "Jesus, if you really want
her in heaven, just take her!" (Fatigue had really gotten to
her by then). The next morning, they awoke next to a sleeping
baby girl whose health seemed to have improved even more. She
grew in leaps and bounds after that night, and everyone knew
that God had really touched this baby. Years later, Carlye could
be found screaming cheers with the varsity cheerleaders and
singing solos at church, even though doctor's swore that she
would never ever make it.
