Pope John Paul 2nd.

As a child, I was mis-diagonsed with a bowel obstruction, and was operated on twice. This left me with quite a weak belly.

Two years ago, (I am now in my forties) I was lifting a heavy bag of rubbish and hurt myself. It did not get better, so I went to the doctor. The doctor told me it was not a hernia, just muscular.

The pain has lessened over these two years, but I still found certain positions in bed painful, and also leaning over the basin to clean my teeth.

On Thursday, I had some heavy shopping to lift, and was in pain in bed that night.
I remembered having read that people have been cured by praying to deceased Popes. The only one I could think of was John Paul 2nd, so I said out loud, 'Pope John Paul 2nd, if you can do anything about this hernia, whatever it is, to save me going under the knife again, I would really appreciate it.'

Can you believe it, I felt the pain drain away within about 5 seconds.

Today is Saturday, and I'm still okay, but I'm still going to be careful with lifting things.

I plan to increase my contributions to MSF to thank the Pope for what he did.
